Mike Inez, baixo de Alice in Chains, nasceu há sessenta anos...!

   

Michael Allen Inez (Los Angeles County, California, May 14, 1966) is an American rock musician best known for his role as the bassist of Alice in Chains since 1993. He is also recognized for his work with Ozzy Osbourne from 1989–1993. Inez has also been associated with Slash's Snakepit, Black Label Society, Spys4Darwin, and Heart. He is of filipino descent. Inez has earned seven Grammy Award nominations as a member of Alice in Chains.

 

Mike Inez began his career in music by playing guitar and saxophone. Since the late 1980s, his career has consisted of the role of bass guitarist in popular hard rock bands. 

 

Ozzy Osbourne (1989–1993)

In 1989, more than 50 musicians auditioned for Ozzy Osbourne's group; Inez, then a member of the Los Angeles band Skin on Skin, won the spot of bassist. Within a month, he was playing a live gig with Osbourne at Wembley Stadium.

Inez was an official member of Osbourne's band during their recording of the album No More Tears. However, Bob Daisley was brought in to record the bass and none of Inez's playing is on the final album. In the liner notes Inez was credited as "bass and music inspiration", as he had written the riff to the title track in a jam session. Inez also appeared on the 1993 Osbourne live album Live & Loud. 

 

Alice in Chains (1993–2002)

By January 1993, Inez had moved on to his next project. Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr had left the group after the release of their album Dirt and Inez replaced him. Inez toured throughout 1993 with Alice in Chains on the strength of the Dirt album. The group also participated in the 1993 Lollapalooza Tour. Alice in Chains' Jar of Flies EP was released in 1994 with Inez on bass. Jar of Flies debuted at #1 on album sales charts, the first EP ever to do so.

Inez recorded with the band for their eponymous 1995 release Alice in Chains, which also debuted at #1. In 1996, Alice in Chains recorded their MTV Unplugged special, the first live performance the group had played together in three years. After their last live performance on July 3, 1996, Alice in Chains went on hiatus. Then in August 1998 Alice in Chains returned to the studio to release the songs "Get Born Again" and "Died". In 1999 the band went on hiatus once again, when rumors of vocalist Layne Staley's drug abuse arose. Alice in Chains officially disbanded on April 20, 2002, after the news of the death of Staley. 

 

Slash's Snakepit (1995)

In 1995, Inez played with Slash on the Guns N' Roses guitarist's side group, Slash's Snakepit. The group recorded It's Five O'Clock Somewhere although Inez did not play any live shows during the corresponding tour. He also briefly rejoined Ozzy Osbourne's band on the Retirement Sucks tour after Geezer Butler resigned due to the pressures of touring. 

 

Jerry Cantrell and Spys4Darwin (1998)

In 1997 Inez played with his Alice in Chains bandmate, Jerry Cantrell, on his debut solo album, Boggy Depot. In the following year, Inez played on the bonus track to Black Label Society's debut album Sonic Brew, a reworked heavy metal cover version of the Osbourne track "No More Tears". At around this time, Inez formed the band Spys4Darwin with Sean Kinney, Chris DeGarmo from Queensrÿche, and Vinnie Dombroski from Sponge. They released the microfish EP, and played radio festivals in the Northwest. 

 

Black Label Society (2001–2004)

In mid-August 2001, Inez temporarily replaced Black Label Society bassist Steve Gibb, who was sent home in the middle of their Ozzfest tour. In 2003, Black Label Society's Robert Trujillo joined Metallica; Inez replaced him in Black Label Society, joining for a short two-week west coast tour of the United States and a short tour of Japan for their The Blessed Hellride album. A few songs from the Tokyo, Japan show of this tour appear in the bonus features section of their live DVD, Boozed, Broozed & Broken-Boned. In 2004, Inez recorded the track "Crazy or High" with Black Label Society for their studio album release Hangover Music Vol. VI. 

 

Heart (2002–2006)

Following Layne Staley's death in April 2002, Inez joined Heart and toured with the band from 2002 through 2006. He appears on Heart's 2003 release, Alive in Seattle, a double CD live recording that documents a 2002 concert at Seattle's Paramount Theatre.

Inez also played bass and tambourine on Heart's 2004 album Jupiters Darling.

 

 

Alice in Chains reunion (2005–present)

 In 2005, Jerry Cantrell, Inez, and Sean Kinney reunited to perform a benefit concert in Seattle for victims of the tsunami disaster that struck South Asia in 2004. By 2006 Inez, along with the surviving members of Alice in Chains, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney, set out for a world tour with various guest singers to fill in for the late Layne Staley. The main singer for the band's tour was William DuVall. The band was also featured on Decades of Rock: Heart and Friends where they performed "Would?" with Phil Anselmo and "Rooster" with William DuVall. DuVall would go on to be made the permanent singer of the group, which has since released three studio albums with Duvall and toured extensively since 2006.

Layne Thomas Staley (Kirkland, Washington, 22 de agosto de 1967 – Seattle, Washington, 5 de abril de 2002) foi um músico americano conhecido por ter sido vocalista e co-compositor da banda Alice in Chains, a qual foi co-fundada por ele, ao lado do guitarrista Jerry Cantrell, em Seattle, Washington, em 1987. A banda alcançou a fama por ter feito parte do movimento grunge no início da década de 1990, e tornou-se conhecida pelo distinto estilo vocal de Layne, que também foi membro dos grupos Mad Season e Class of '99. Em meados de 1996, Staley desapareceu dos holofotes, e nunca mais se apresentou ao vivo. Ele lidou por muitos anos com uma depressão e uma severa dependência química, o que resultou na sua morte, a 5 de abril de 2002.

Chester Charles Bennington (Phoenix, 20 de março de 1976 – Palos Verdes Estates, 20 de julho de 2017) foi um cantor, compositor, ator e vocalista da banda americana Linkin Park, tendo também trabalhado com o grupo Dead by Sunrise e sido vocalista dos Stone Temple Pilots, entre 2013 e 2015.
Bennington ganhou notoriedade devido à sua carreira como vocalista da banda Linkin Park. No ano 2000, estes lançaram o disco Hybrid Theory, que se tornou um enorme sucesso de público e crítica. Em 2005, este álbum chegou à marca de 10 milhões de cópias vendidas, apenas nos Estados Unidos. A banda lançou outros trabalhos bem sucedidos, como os álbuns Meteora (2003), Minutes to Midnight (2007), A Thousand Suns (2010), Living Things (2012), The Hunting Party (2014) e One More Light (2017).
Com todo o sucesso, Bennington focou também em vários trabalhos paralelos, como músico, produtor e ator. Ele formou a sua própria banda, Dead by Sunrise, em 2005, lançando posteriormente um álbum com eles, Out of Ashes. Chester também trabalhou com bandas como os Stone Temple Pilots, gravando um EP e fazendo shows com eles. Bennington foi reconhecido diversas vezes pelo seu trabalho como cantor, especialmente com os Linkin Park, sendo colocado pela revista Hit Parader na lista dos "Top 100 Vocalistas de Heavy Metal".
Eram conhecidos do público e da imprensa os seus problemas pessoais, com drogas e álcool. Chester já tinha dito várias vezes usar a música como a sua "válvula de escape". Mas após um período, decidiu se tratar e afirmou "não ser mais aquela pessoa", focando-se então ainda mais no trabalho e na família. Chester era pai de seis filhos (um adotado) que teve com três mulheres, sendo casado com a sua última esposa, Talinda Ann Bentley, de 2006 até à sua morte.
Em 20 de julho de 2017, Bennington foi encontrado morto na sua residência, em Palos Verdes Estates, no sul da Califórnia. A causa da morte foi suicídio por enforcamento.

Jerry Fulton Cantrell Jr. (Tacoma, 18 de março de 1966) é um músico americano conhecido por ser fundador, guitarrista, co-vocalista e principal compositor da banda de rock Alice in Chains, que ganhou fama no início dos anos 90, durante o movimento grunge de Seattle. A banda diferenciava-se das demais pelo som com influência do heavy metal e hard rock, e pelas harmonias vocais entre Cantrell e Layne Staley.

Cantrell começou a cantar os vocais principais no EP Sap de 1992. Após a morte de Staley em 2002, Cantrell assumiu o posto de vocalista principal no primeiro álbum do Alice in Chains sem Staley, Black Gives Way to Blue, lançado em 2009, onde dividia os vocais com William DuVall. Cantrell continuou como vocalista principal nos álbuns seguintes da banda, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here (2013) e Rainier Fog (2018). Cantrell também tem uma carreira solo e lançou os álbuns Boggy Depot (1998), Degradation Trip (2002) e Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2 (2002). O seu terceiro álbum solo, Brighten, foi lançado em 29 de outubro de 2021.

Em 2006, a revista britânica Metal Hammer premiou Cantrell com o título de "Riff Lord" (Senhor dos Riffs). Cantrell também tocou com as bandas Heart, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Deftones, Danzig, Metal Church, Damageplan e Gov't Mule.

Cantrell compôs canções para a banda sonora de The Cable Guy (1996), John Wick: Chapter Two (2017) e Dark Nights: Metal (2018). Ele também teve pequenas participações, como ator, nos filmes Jerry Maguire, de 1996, e Rock Slyde, de 2009, além de atuar em dois documentários dos Alice in Chains: The Nona Tapes de 1995 e AIC 23 de 2013.

Ryan Anthony Peake (Brooks, Alberta, March 1, 1973) is a canadian rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter, and backing vocalist of the Canadian rock band Nickelback.

He has been with the band since their inception and is best known for his prominent vocals on the Nickelback songs "Savin' Me", "Hollywood", and "Gotta Be Somebody". He has performed lead vocals on a range of different cover songs at live Nickelback concerts such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting", "Use Somebody", "I Ran", "Everlong" and "Super Bon Bon". When Nickelback performs Chad Kroeger's solo hit "Hero" live, Ryan sings the vocal parts originally performed by Josey Scott. Peake has writing credits for several Nickelback songs such as "Someday", "Savin' Me", "Miss You", and "Edge of a Revolution". Peake's instruments have included Gibson Flying Vs, Gibson Explorers, and Gibson Les Pauls. When Nickelback performs their song "Photograph", he uses an acoustic guitar once owned by his father.

Henry Rollins (nascido Henry Lawrence Garfield, Washington, D.C., 13 de fevereiro de 1961) é um cantor, compositor, músico, ator, apresentador, comediante e ativista norte-americano. Em 1980, após ser vocalista dos State of Alert (uma banda punk de Washington D.C.), Henry Rollins assumiu o papel de vocalista dos Black Flag, onde permaneceu de agosto de 1981 até o começo de 1986. Após o fim da banda, Rollins criou a sua própria gravadora e editora (batizando-a de 2.13.61), com o intuito de lançar os seus próprios álbuns de spoken word e os seus livros (e também livros de outras pessoas). Rollins também foi vocalista da Rollins Band, uma banda de rock alternativo que teve inúmeras formações de 2003 a 2006. 

Desde os Black Flag, Rollins tem embarcado em projetos de diferentes áreas dos media.
