Timothy George Butler (Teddington, 7 December 1958) is an English musician and songwriter. He is the bassist, and co-founder of the English rock band the Psychedelic Furs. His brother Richard Butler and himself founded the band. He is also the youngest of three brothers.

Richard, the eldest, is the lead vocalist of the Psychedelic Furs. Both brothers were also founding members of the alternative rock band, Love Spit Love.

Butler was born in Teddington, Middlesex, England and lives in Liberty, Kentucky with his wife Robyn Wesley Butler and their children. She was a fan since the Psychedelic Furs' third studio album Forever Now (1982).

Benjamin Chase "Ben" Harper (Claremont, Califórnia, 28 de outubro de 1969) é um músico norte-americano.

Nascido na Califórnia, Ben Harper cresceu a ouvir blues, folk, soul, R&B e reggae. Aprendeu a tocar guitarra ainda criança e montou diversas bandas na sua adolescência, sempre influenciado por nomes como Blues Traveler, Hootie & the Blowfish, Phish e Taj Mahal. Ben é muito religioso, passando sempre assim, uma mensagem cristã nas suas músicas.

A sua carreira profissional como artista a solo começou em 1993 com “Welcome To The Cruel World”. Sempre seguindo um intervalo de dois anos, foram lançados “Fight For Your Mind” (1995), “The Will To Live” (1997) e “Burn To Shine” (1999).

Uma caixa especial intitulada “CD Box Collection”, contendo os 3 primeiros álbuns de Harper saiu em 2000 e, no ano seguinte, chega o duplo ao vivo “Live From Mars”. O disco foi dividido em um elétrico e outro mais acústico e traz os maiores ‘hits’ do músico como “Excuse Me Mr.”, “Steal My Kisses” e “Pleasure And Pain”.

O seu sexto trabalho chama-se “Diamonds On The Inside” (2003). O álbum é uma mistura de heavy, funk e folk. Ao lado dele estão The Innocent Criminals, formado pelo baixista Juan Nelson, o percussionista Leon Lewis Mobley e o baterista Oliver Charles. Os destaques foram “With My Own Two Hands”, “Everything”, “Amen Omen”, além da própria faixa-título.
É também conhecido como o padrinho de Jack Johnson, pois foi quem o descobriu e o indicou para uma grande gravadora. Em 2007 gravou em parceria com a cantora brasileira Vanessa da Mata a canção "Good Luck". Em 2008, formou a banda Ben Harper & Relentless 7, e fez um tour, também em 2009, com a banda Pearl Jam e em 2015, voltou a trabalhar com a banda The Innocent Criminals.

He is best known for being the lead guitarist and co-founder of Los Angeles-based punk band The Germs and for being a rhythm guitarist for grunge band Nirvana, which he joined as a touring guitarist in 1993, and Foo Fighters, with whom he has recorded six studio albums. After Nirvana disbanded following the suicide of its frontman Kurt Cobain, drummer Dave Grohl went on to become the frontman of rock band Foo Fighters, with Smear joining on guitar. He left Foo Fighters in 1997, before rejoining as a touring guitarist in 2005, and has been a full-time member since 2010.

O álbum The Colour and the Shape foi lançado pelos Foo Fighters há 28 anos

  

The Colour and the Shape is the second studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on May 20, 1997, through Roswell and Capitol Records. It marked the official debut of the Foo Fighters as a band, as their eponymous 1995 debut album was primarily recorded by frontman Dave Grohl and producer Barrett Jones as a demo. After the debut became an international success, Grohl recruited guitarist Pat Smear, bassist Nate Mendel, and drummer William Goldsmith to form the band's full lineup. The group convened in the fall of 1996 for pre-production on a second album, and brought in Gil Norton as producer to establish a pop sensibility for the tracks. The band strived to create a full-fledged rock record, contrary to music press predictions that it would be another grunge offshoot.

Primarily inspired by Grohl's divorce from photographer Jennifer Youngblood in 1996, The Colour and the Shape is more lyrically introspective and musically developed than the Foo Fighters' debut. The album's track listing was designed to resemble a therapy session, splitting the album between uptempo tracks and ballads to reflect conflicting emotions. Early sessions at the Bear Creek Studio in Washington went poorly and the band discarded most of those recordings. The band regrouped without Goldsmith in early 1997 to record at Hollywood's Grandmaster Recordings studio, with Grohl sitting in on drums instead. Goldsmith was offended and disgruntled that most of his material had been re-recorded, and he left the band shortly thereafter.

The singles "Monkey Wrench", "Everlong", and "My Hero" peaked within the top ten of US rock radio charts, and the album charted at number ten on the Billboard 200. The album was also a commercial success on an international level, peaking at number three in the United Kingdom. Critics deemed the album a significant American rock release of its era, and in retrospective assessments it continues to be viewed as a seminal modern rock album. It was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1998 for Best Rock Album. The Colour and the Shape remains the Foo Fighters' biggest seller in the U.S., having sold more than two million copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album was remastered and reissued in 2007 with several bonus tracks for its tenth anniversary.

The Colour and the Shape was Foo Fighters' last album to be released and marketed by Capitol Records. After the band, along with their label Roswell Records, signed to RCA Records, its distribution, along with their eponymous debut album, has switched to RCA.

Taylor Hawkins, o falecido baterista dos Foo Fighters, nasceu há 53 anos...

Oliver Taylor Hawkins (Fort Worth, 17 de fevereiro de 1972 - Bogotá, 25 de março de 2022) foi um músiconorte-americano, mais conhecido como o baterista da banda de rock Foo Fighters. Antes de entrar para a banda, em 1997, era o baterista de Alanis Morissette na turnê Can't Not tours na época de seu álbum Jagged Little Pill, assim como o baterista da banda experimental progressiva chamada Sylvia, que depois mudou de nome para Anyone, passou a assinar com a Roadrunner Records. O seu primo, Kevin Harrell, apresentou-o a Dave Grohl após acampar com ele por várias semanas em Ozarks. Hawkins viria a ser o baterista da banda de Grohl, Foo Fighters. Como membro do grupo, entrou para o Rock and Roll Hall of Fame em 2021.

Em 2004, Hawkins formou o seu próprio projeto paralelo, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, no qual tocava bateria e cantava.

Em 25 de março de 2022, Taylor faleceu, com apenas 50 anos, mas a causa da morte não foi divulgada, sabendo-se que, nos últimos dias de vida, o músico tinha dores no peito.

Em 25 de março de 2022, os perfis oficiais dos Foo Fighters nas redes sociais anunciaram a morte de Hawkins aos cinquenta anos. A causa da morte não foi divulgada. A banda estava em turnê pela América do Sul e tinham um concerto marcado para aquela noite no Festival Estéreo Picnic, em Bogotá, na Colômbia.

Uma nota divulgada pela Secretaria de Saúde de Bogotá, informou que foi feita uma chamada para o serviço de emergência porque Hawkins estava sentindo dores no peito enquanto estava em seu quarto no hotel Casa Medina em Bogotá. Os profissionais de saúde que compareceram ao local realizaram reanimação cardiopulmonar, mas Hawkins não respondeu ao procedimento e foi declarado morto no local. Segundo um relatório preliminar da polícia colombiana, haviam drogas no quarto onde Hawkins se encontrava, sendo atestado primeiramente que "A causa da morte ainda não foi apurada, [...] a morte pode estar associada ao consumo de entorpecentes".

No dia seguinte, um exame toxicológico feito pela "Fiscalía General de la Nación" confirmou a presença de pelo menos dez substâncias no sangue de Hawkins, entre eles THC, antidepressivos tricíclicos, benzodiazepínicos e opioides.
