Georg Albert Ruthenberg (Los Angeles, August 5, 1959), better known by his stage name Pat Smear, is an American musician. He is best known for being the lead guitarist and co-founder of Los Angeles-based punk band The Germs and for being a rhythm guitarist for grunge band Nirvana, which he joined as a touring guitarist in 1993, and Foo Fighters, with whom he has recorded six studio albums. After Nirvana disbanded following the suicide of its frontman Kurt Cobain, drummer Dave Grohl went on to become the frontman of rock band Foo Fighters,
with Smear joining on guitar. He left Foo Fighters in 1997, before

segurança de Cornell ter saído, por volta das 23.35 horas. A viúva de
Cornell, Vicky Karayiannis, entrou em contato com Kirk
Pasich, advogado especialista em seguro, minutos após a morte do

Stone Carpenter Gossard (Seattle, July 20, 1966) is an American musician who serves as a guitarist and co-lyricist for the rock band Pearl Jam. Along with Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Eddie Vedder, he is one of the founding members of the band.
Gossard is also known for his work prior to Pearl Jam with the Seattle-based grunge bands Green River and Mother Love Bone. Gossard was also a member of the bands Temple of the Dog and Brad.
In addition to his performing career, he has been active in the music
industry as a producer and the owner of a record label and recording
studio. He released his first solo album Bayleaf in 2001; his second, Moonlander, followed in 2013.

The Colour and the Shape is the second studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on May 20, 1997, through Roswell and Capitol Records. It marked the official debut of the Foo Fighters as a band, as their eponymous 1995 debut album was primarily recorded by frontman Dave Grohl and producer Barrett Jones as a demo. After the debut became an international success, Grohl recruited guitarist Pat Smear, bassist Nate Mendel, and drummer William Goldsmith to form the band's full lineup. The group convened in the fall of 1996 for pre-production on a second album, and brought in Gil Norton as producer to establish a pop
sensibility for the tracks. The band strived to create a full-fledged
rock record, contrary to music press predictions that it would be
another grunge offshoot.
Primarily inspired by Grohl's divorce from photographer Jennifer Youngblood in 1996, The Colour and the Shape
is more lyrically introspective and musically developed than the Foo
Fighters' debut. The album's track listing was designed to resemble a
therapy session, splitting the album between uptempo tracks and ballads
to reflect conflicting emotions. Early sessions at the Bear Creek Studio
in Washington went poorly and the band discarded most of those
recordings. The band regrouped without Goldsmith in early 1997 to record
at Hollywood's Grandmaster Recordings studio, with Grohl sitting in on
drums instead. Goldsmith was offended and disgruntled that most of his
material had been re-recorded, and he left the band shortly thereafter.
The singles "Monkey Wrench", "Everlong", and "My Hero" peaked within the top ten of US rock radio charts, and the album charted at number ten on the Billboard 200.
The album was also a commercial success on an international level,
peaking at number three in the United Kingdom. Critics deemed the album a
significant American rock release of its era, and in retrospective
assessments it continues to be viewed as a seminal modern rock album. It
was nominated for a Grammy Awardin 1998 for Best Rock Album. The Colour and the Shape remains the Foo Fighters' biggest seller in the U.S., having sold more than two million copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album was remastered and reissued in 2007 with several bonus tracks for its tenth anniversary.

be released and marketed by Capitol Records. After the band, along with
their label Roswell Records, signed to RCA Records, its distribution, along with their eponymous debut album, has switched to RCA.

Mike Inez began his career in music by playing guitar and saxophone.
Since the late 1980s, his career has consisted of the role of bass
guitarist in popular hard rock bands.
Ozzy Osbourne (1989–1993)
In 1989, more than 50 musicians auditioned for Ozzy Osbourne's
group; Inez, then a member of the Los Angeles band Skin on Skin, won
the spot of bassist. Within a month, he was playing a live gig with Osbourne at Wembley Stadium.
Inez was an official member of Osbourne's band during their recording of the album No More Tears. However, Bob Daisley
was brought in to record the bass and none of Inez's playing is on the
final album. In the liner notes Inez was credited as "bass and music
inspiration", as he had written the riff to the title track in a jam
session. Inez also appeared on the 1993 Osbourne live album Live & Loud.
Alice in Chains (1993–2002)

By January 1993, Inez had moved on to his next project. Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr had left the group after the release of their album Dirt and Inez replaced him. Inez toured throughout 1993 with Alice in Chains on the strength of the Dirt album. The group also participated in the 1993 Lollapalooza Tour. Alice in Chains' Jar of FliesEP was released in 1994 with Inez on bass. Jar of Flies debuted at #1 on album sales charts, the first EP ever to do so.
Inez recorded with the band for their eponymous 1995 release Alice in Chains, which also debuted at #1. In 1996, Alice in Chains recorded their MTV Unplugged
special, the first live performance the group had played together in
three years. After their last live performance on July 3, 1996, Alice in
Chains went on hiatus. Then in August 1998 Alice in Chains returned to
the studio to release the songs "Get Born Again" and "Died". In 1999 the
band went on hiatus once again, when rumors of vocalist Layne Staley's
drug abuse arose. Alice in Chains officially disbanded on April 20,
2002, after the news of the death of Staley.
Slash's Snakepit (1995)
In 1995, Inez played with Slash on the Guns N' Roses guitarist's side group, Slash's Snakepit. The group recorded It's Five O'Clock Somewhere although Inez did not play any live shows during the corresponding tour. He also briefly rejoined Ozzy Osbourne's band on the Retirement Sucks tour after Geezer Butler resigned due to the pressures of touring.
In mid-August 2001, Inez temporarily replaced Black Label Society bassist Steve Gibb, who was sent home in the middle of their Ozzfest tour. In 2003, Black Label Society's Robert Trujillo
joined Metallica; Inez replaced him in Black Label Society, joining for
a short two-week west coast tour of the United States and a short tour
of Japan for their The Blessed Hellride album. A few songs from the Tokyo, Japan show of this tour appear in the bonus features section of their live DVD, Boozed, Broozed & Broken-Boned. In 2004, Inez recorded the track "Crazy or High" with Black Label Society for their studio album release Hangover Music Vol. VI.
Heart (2002–2006)
Following Layne Staley's death in April 2002, Inez joined Heart and toured with the band from 2002 through 2006. He appears on Heart's 2003 release, Alive in Seattle, a double CD live recording that documents a 2002 concert at Seattle's Paramount Theatre.
Inez also played bass and tambourine on Heart's 2004 album Jupiters Darling.
Alice in Chains reunion (2005–present)
In 2005, Jerry Cantrell, Inez, and Sean Kinney reunited to perform a benefit concert in Seattle for victims of the tsunami disaster that struck South Asia in 2004. By 2006 Inez, along with the surviving members of Alice in Chains, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney, set out for a world tour with various guest singers to fill in for the late Layne Staley. The main singer for the band's tour was William DuVall. The band was also featured on Decades of Rock: Heart and Friends where they performed "Would?" with Phil Anselmo
and "Rooster" with William DuVall. DuVall would go on to be made the
permanent singer of the group, which has since released three studio
albums with Duvall and toured extensively since 2006.
Cobain formed Nirvana with Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1985 and established it as part of the Seattle music scene, having its debut album Bleach released on the independent record label Sub Pop in 1989. After signing with major label DGC Records, the band found breakthrough success with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from its second album Nevermind (1991). Following the success of Nevermind, Nirvana was labeled "the flagship band" of Generation X,
and Cobain hailed as "the spokesman of a generation". Cobain however
was often uncomfortable and frustrated, believing his message and
artistic vision to have been misinterpreted by the public, with his
personal issues often subject to media attention. He challenged
Nirvana's audience with its final studio album In Utero (1993).
During the last years of his life, Cobain struggled with heroin addiction,
his fame and public image, as well as the professional and lifelong
personal pressures surrounding himself and his wife, musician Courtney Love. He also struggled with illness and depression for most of his life. On April 8, 1994, Cobain was found dead at his home in Seattle, the victim of what was officially ruled a suicide by a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. The circumstances of his death
have become a topic of public fascination and debate. Since their
debut, Nirvana, with Cobain as a songwriter, sold over twenty-five
million albums in the US alone, and over fifty million worldwide.
Layne Thomas Staley (Kirkland, Washington, 22 de agosto de 1967 – Seattle, Washington, 5 de abril de 2002) foi um músico americano conhecido por ter sido vocalista e co-compositor da banda Alice in Chains, a qual foi co-fundada por ele, ao lado do guitarrista Jerry Cantrell, em Seattle, Washington, em 1987.
