Timothy Ross Armstrong (Albany, California, November 25, 1965) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and producer. Known for his distinctive hoarse and soulful voice, he is the singer/guitarist for the punk rock band Rancid and hip hop/punk rock supergroup Transplants. Prior to forming Rancid, Armstrong was in the ska punk band Operation Ivy.

In 1997, along with Brett Gurewitz of the band Bad Religion and owner of Epitaph Records, Armstrong founded Hellcat Records. In 2012, through his website, Armstrong started releasing music that influenced him, along with stripped-down cover songs of his own work under the name Tim Timebomb. Armstrong is also a songwriter for other artists. Armstrong won a Grammy Award for his work with Jimmy Cliff and Pink, and has also worked with Joe Walsh.

Timothy Lockwood Armstrong (Berkeley, 25 de novembro de 1965) é um músico norte-americano.

É o guitarrista e vocalista dos Rancid, tendo já tocado em bandas como Operation Ivy, Shaken 69, Downfall ,Silencers e Transplants. Atualmente está empenhado numa carreira a solo - o primeiro álbum, lançado recentemente, chama-se "A Poet's Life".

Quando tinha cerca de 20 anos ele e seu amigo de longa data Matt Freeman (Tim e Matt são amigos desde os 5 anos de idade) fundaram, juntamente com Dave Mello e Jesse Michaels, os Operation Ivy mas dois anos depois a banda acabou, tendo então Tim começado a se envolver no consumo de drogas e álcool.

Foi aí que Matt tentou tirá-lo dessa vida e então começaram a banda Downfall, que durou muito pouco. Quando os Downfall acabaram, Matt começou os Rancid, para que tivesse certeza que Tim teria algo para fazer, e se manteria longe das drogas. O pai de Tim também era alcoólico.
