Iggy Pop faz hoje 76 anos

     

Iggy Pop, nome artístico de James Newell Osterberg (Muskegon, 21 de abril de 1947), é um músico de rock dos Estados Unidos, além de ator ocasional.

Em meados dos anos 60, ele tocou bateria numa banda de alunos da sua escola, The Iguanas. O nome artístico, aliás, surgiu devido ao nome da primeira música da banda escolar. Em 1969, surgia o The Stooges, com Ron Asheton na guitarra, Scott Asheton na bateria e Dave Alexander no baixo (que foi excluído após o segundo álbum, abrindo lugar para James Williamson, guitarrista, enquanto Ron assumia o baixo), banda que liderou durante cinco anos. Ao fim da banda, Iggy Pop decidiu iniciar uma carreira a solo.

Em 1977, recebeu a ajuda do seu amigo David Bowie para produzir os seus dois primeiros álbuns a solo: The Idiot, em março, e Lust for Life, em setembro. O primeiro disco incluiu a música "China Girl", que mais tarde seria um sucesso de David Bowie, no álbum Let's Dance, de 1983.

Siouxsie Sioux - 64 anos

   

Susan Janet Ballion, mais conhecida como Siouxsie Sioux (Bromley, Londres, 27 de maio de 1957) é uma cantora britânica, vocalista da banda pós-punk, Siouxsie and the Banshees, e de seu projeto paralelo formado com Budgie, a banda The Creatures. Considerada uma das mais importantes artistas de sua geração e um dos ícones do rock desde a década de 70 até aos dias de hoje, influenciando vários artistas de sua época e posteriormente.

Ela é mais conhecida por ter sido vocalista da banda de rock Siouxsie and the Banshees (1976-1996), grupo que lançou 11 álbuns de estúdio e tiveram vários singles no Top 20 do Reino Unido, incluindo "Hong Kong Garden", "Happy House", "Peek-a-Boo", além de um hit dos 25 maiores da Billboard nos Estados Unidos, "Kiss Them for Me". Ela manteve um projeto paralelo com o músico Budgie, a banda The Creatures, de 1981 até 2005. Siouxsie é considerada uma das mais importantes artistas de sua geração e um dos ícones do rock da década de 70 e 80 até os dias de hoje, influenciando vários artistas de sua época e posteriormente, como Sinead O'Connor, PJ Harvey, Tracey Thorn da Everything but the Girl, Courtney Love, Kim Gordon da banda Sonic Youth, Elizabeth Fraser da banda Cocteau Twins, Sharleen Spiteri da banda Texas, Karin Dreijer Andersson da banda the Knife, Romy Croft da banda the XX e FKA twigs.
