David Bowie nasceu há 73 anos

David Bowie, nome artístico de David Robert Jones, (Brixton, Londres, 8 de janeiro de 1947 - Manhattan, Nova Iorque, 10 de janeiro de 2016) foi um cantor, compositor, ator e produtor musical inglês. Por vezes referido como "Camaleão do Rock" pela capacidade de sempre renovar a sua imagem, foi uma importante figura na música popular durante cinco décadas e é considerado um dos músicos populares mais inovadores e ainda influentes de todos os tempos, sobretudo pelo seu trabalho nas décadas de 70 e 80, além de ser reconhecido pela voz característica e pela profundidade intelectual da sua obra.

Mick Karn morreu há cinco anos...

Mick Karn, nome artístico de Andonis Michaelides, também conhecido por Anthony Michaelides (Nicósia, Chipre, 24 de julho de 1958 - Londres, Inglaterra, 4 de janeiro de 2011), foi um músico multi-instrumentista e compositor inglês, mais conhecido como baixista da banda Japan. 

Ainda no ano de 2009, Mick lançaria seu último disco de estúdio, The Concrete Twin.Planos para uma turnê foram postos de lado quando lhe foi diagnosticado cancro, em estágio avançado, no final de maio. Um fundo de recursos foi criado para ajudar a pagar as despesas médicas e apoiar a família neste momento, com todos mudando-se para Londres no final de junho, onde Mick começaria seu tratamento no Royal Marsden Hospital. Mick perdeu a luta para o cancro e faleceu em sua casa, em Chelsea, cercado por amigos próximos e familiares, às 04.30 de uma terça-feira, 4 de janeiro de 2011, aos 52 anos de idade.

O último projeto de Mick foi uma nova colaboração com Peter Murphy e Paul Vincent Lawford no Dalis Car. As cinco faixas que sobraram, finalizadas, foram lançadas em 5 de abril de 2012 como um EP, intitulado InGladAloneness.

Mick também gravara uma cover de "Ashes to Ashes", de David Bowie, para um tributo musical ao artista, We Were so Turned On, lançado em outubro de 2010. Este foi um de seus últimos trabalhos.

Roddy Bottum, o teclista dos Faith No More, faz hoje 50 anos!

Roddy Bottum (nascido Roswell Christopher Bottum III, Los Angeles, 1 de julho de 1963) é um músico americano, mais conhecido como teclista da banda californiana de rock Faith No More.

Bottum estudou piano clássico desde muito jovem, até se mudar para São Francisco, com 18 anos. Em 1982 juntou-se a seus amigos de escola, Billy Gould e Mike Bordin, formando os Faith No More, grupo em que permaneceu até seu fim, em 1998. Após o álbum Angel Dust, lançado em 1992, no entanto, a sua participação na banda foi drasticamente reduzida. Numa entrevista lançada em edição especial em vinil do álbum King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime, Bottum explicou que suas contribuições diminuíram devido à morte de seu pai, naquele mesmo ano. Em 2009 Bottum retornou aos Faith No More para uma turnê de reunião, e uma possível gravação de material inédito.

Entre 1994 e 1995 Bottum formou o grupo Imperial Teen, com a baterista Lynn Perko, outra veterana da cena musical da Bay Area. A banda ficou conhecida pelo single "Yoo Hoo", utilizado no filme Jawbreaker, de 1999.
