Jerry Horton was born in Dixon, California on the 10th of March. He has one brother named Chad. He began playing the guitar at the age of 14. Before joining Papa Roach, Jerry worked as a roofer. He was introduced to the band by an ex-girlfriend and soon replaced Ben Luther as the lead guitarist of the band. Jerry has been nominated a couple of times as best guitarist for the Californian Music Awards. Jerry is straight edge, refraining from smoking, drinking alcohol or doing drugs. On 2002, Jerry married former playmate Jessica Lee. They have one daughter together, Amelia Horton.
